long time no see! kagisnad here as usual. i gotta say life has been hectic for us!
not much time for our hobbies, what with school, art, and life in general. i myself have been super busy with school and trying to raise money for bills, through art commissions. so we haven't paid much attention to this account.
i hope we can become active again, for a while now we have wanted to take more pictures of our collections to update the page.
however, before that, i would like to reorganize my collection. i have had a moth problem, that i am solving now [a lot of anti-moth spray, and putting them in the fridge for two weeks to kill any eggs, then thoroughly inspect them]. i decided i will keep only skulls, wet specimens, tails and bird study skins, claws, teeth, as well as possibly other curiosities. this isn't because i wouldn't like other things, i do, a lot, but i cannot sit with my window closed at night during the summer.. so moths are a huge problem for me. i love displaying my collection so i can look at it any time, but i can't do that with the window open.
i will be keeping a few moth-endangered items only in completely sealed food containers, sadly none are big enough for pelts. i will probably only keep one of those i currently own, the silver fox. i am cutting down drastically on most things anyway, i will only keep those i absolutely cannot go without.
business:
i wish to trade many of my items for skulls and wet specimens, teeth&claws or bird study skins. if you have any of those things for sale, or generally things that aren't affected by moths, please let me know!
i am also willing to sell, rather than trade. make me an offer.
everything will be frozen 2 weeks prior to shipping, and thoroughly sprayed and inspected then sealed in the shipping box, away from the rest of my collection. i guarantee you 100% it will be completely moth-free
a list of what i have for trade [NOT COMPLETE] i have to go through my whole collection, i will do so in the morning and update the journal, but i figured i'd put up what has pictures taken of it. everything else will be taken pictures of later, or upon request.
!i will update it on wednesday or thursday i hope, i was too busy today
wings - buzzard, cormorant, sparrowhawk

Help with smell in bird skins, sharing tutorials
Hello! Recently, Blackberry has been finding birds and trying to preserve them as study skins and came across these very useful and informative guides! http://www.beatymuseum.ubc.ca/birds If you don't know them yet, you should definitely have a look.
However, recently she found a blackbird juvenile in very good condition, and processed it as a study skin. The normal skinning process, then cleaning the inside of remaining extra tissue, removing the brain and tongue as per those guides. After that, she inserted a stick through a hole made in the skull in the brain removal process, this stick had cotton wrapped around it as stuffing for the ins
Macerating on the balcony vs in a room
In a few hours, we will flesh and put a lamb skull to macerate, and I have the question, where is it best to let it macerate, on the balcony, or in my room?
My room has a constant temperature, average 20 degrees Celsius. On the balcony however, it drops under 10 in the night and can go as high as 30 during the day.
I don't have a tank heater and such to help get it warmer, the most I can do is place it close to my gecko's lamp, or perhaps if necessary even place it under its own lamp [heats to over 30 celsius].
I ask this because I'd like this skull to be cleaned asap, while the dog skull I have along with the paws are no rush so they can
Looking for: Fox Paws, Silver Pelt, Falcon Skull
We're currently looking for:
Fox paws/legs, one red, and two blue. They are meant for completing pelts.
A silver fox pelt, with a dark near-black area at the neck, and a dark pronounced line going down the back, and a lighter rump. Doesn't have to be mountable or entirely complete. Wallhanger quality is fine.
A falcon skull, or any other bird of prey skull so long as it has the beak sheath and the tomial tooth.
Also two muntjac buck skulls.
Please let us know if you come by any of these items, thank you! :) This is a list of items we're looking to find more quickly, but our entire wishlists are here http://pastebin.com/Y8gWgtwf [Kagsina
